This Privacy Policy applies to the Maria Kaupas Academy SMS Alerts program operated by Molality Cloud Solutions LLC on behalf of Maria Kaupas Academy. It describes what information the program collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.
This policy covers the SMS alert program only.
We collect only what is necessary to operate the alert program:
We do not collect your name, address, payment information, or location through this program.
Your mobile number is used solely to deliver informational school alerts you have consented to receive, and to honor your STOP and HELP requests.
This program sends up to 20 messages per month. Actual volume varies by use case and is usually well below that limit; the cap applies in all cases, including emergency and weather-related alerts. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
Messages sent through this program contain school-wide announcements only. No personally identifiable information is transmitted by SMS.
We never send student names, student ID numbers, grades, attendance or disciplinary records, health or medical information, class schedules, addresses, or any other personal information about a student, parent, guardian, or staff member.
Student education records are not accessible to, and are never transmitted through, this messaging program. Where a communication would involve personal details about an individual student or family, Maria Kaupas Academy uses phone or email instead.
Do not reply to these messages with personal information. Replies other than the STOP and HELP keywords are not monitored, and any content sent to the alert number is discarded.
No mobile information is sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party. This information is excluded from every category of sharing described in this policy.

Enrollment requires a double opt-in. Texting JOIN to (570) 565-0550 alone does not subscribe you. You are subscribed only after you reply YES to the confirmation message we send. If you do not reply YES, your number is not added to the program.
Consent is voluntary and is not a condition of any purchase, enrollment, or participation in Maria Kaupas Academy services or programs. You may withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP.
Active subscriber numbers are retained for as long as you remain enrolled. After you reply STOP, your number is added to a suppression list so that no further messages are sent to it.
Opt-in and opt-out records are retained for a minimum of four years as required for regulatory and carrier compliance, and are not used for any other purpose.
Subscriber data is stored on access-controlled systems and transmitted over encrypted connections. Access is limited to authorized Maria Kaupas Academy and Molality Cloud Solutions LLC personnel who require it to operate the program.
This program is intended for parents, guardians, and faculty who are 18 years or older. We do not knowingly enroll mobile numbers belonging to children under 13. If you believe a child's number has been enrolled, contact us at support@mkacademy.org and we will remove it.
To stop receiving messages at any time, reply STOP to any message from this program. You will receive a confirmation message, and no further alerts will be sent.
If you previously unsubscribed and want to receive alerts again, reply START (not JOIN) to the alert number. START lifts the messaging block created by your STOP request and, if you had previously completed enrollment, re-subscribes you immediately.
Replying STOP suspends delivery; it does not erase the consent record described above, which we retain for the period stated under Data Retention. Replying START resumes delivery under that existing consent.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date below reflects the most recent revision. Material changes to how we use your mobile number will be communicated before they take effect.
